Hi, and thanks for stopping by for a look!
I'm Zip. I'm a cartoonist who has been at it for a long time, and I have a bit of an old-fashioned style, derived from a love of comics, roleplaying games, and fantasy art especially from the 1970s and 1980s. Over the years, as my style has seemed to grow increasingly anachronistic, I've found myself searching for good applications for my work. So, I figure, why not go back to the source?
My current work is dedicated to creating tabletop rpg resources that lean fully into an old school dark fantasy aesthetic. I'm especially focused Old School Rovers, paper miniatures and tokens, along with character and setting artwork which can be used to set a scene or visually flesh out gameplay at the table. These character packs are on sale here on Itch, and more will become available soon.
Here's what the miniatures look like:
I'm also (ploddingly) working on making my dream comic, Malu. It's a dark fantasy, sword and sorcery comic that is adapted from Slave Girl Comics, which is in the public domain. Malu both updates and expands upon the limited source material. It draws heavily from the adult-oriented weird fiction roots of the sword and sorcery genre, while contemporizing much of the themes.
Here are the first few pages of that:
You can look in on progress for both of these projects on my Patreon page.
Once again, thanks for the visit. I hope you like what you've seen.
